Check Out Our Video For  “Ashes to Ashes” (posted 7/2/09)

Mr. Bob Scharr shot the live band footage for this video during our May 15th show at the Whiskey Lounge. I shot the cemetery footage the weekend before Memorial Day in the same cemetery we had our promo photos taken last October.  Some people look at you really funny when they see you running around a cemetery with a video camera.

The song “Ashes to Ashes” has been around for about a year and a half now.  We’ve recorded and released it several times since its creation and when we head into the studio to work on the CD we no doubt will be recording it again as the song has evolved and gotten better over time.

Jodon Celebrates 1-Year Fronting Six Syllable Sin (posted 7/2/09)

It’s hard to believe it’s been a full year since Jodon stepped in to front this band but it has, where in the hell does the time go? Insert “time flies when your having fun” axiom here of course.

The search for someone to front this band started in February of 2008 and got serious in early March of 2008 when we posted some ads on a few musician networking websites. I wouldn’t call the response to those ads overwhelming as we ended up with about a half a dozen people who were interested spanning from Flint down to Battle Creek.  We auditioned a couple but no one seemed to click like we wanted so the search continued.

It was during that time that Scott was talking about this guy he’d seen at a local talent competition recently that he was impressed with and was going to call him in to audition, which took a few weeks to arrange. We all knew about ten minutes into Jodon’s audition he was the one who needs to front this band and he accepted the position.  It’s hard to believe that was a year ago.

May 15th Show At The Whiskey Lounge (posted 7/2/09)

Do to two other bands dropping out of the headlining spot for that show on very short notice it was just Silent Lapse and Six Syllable Sin. Thanks to all that were there, it was a fun show, be sure to check out the photos.  We had Mr. Bob Scharr shoot some live video that night that we used in our “Ashes to Ashes” video plus we handed out some CD’s we made up special for the occasion, I think we may make that a regular thing at shows, we’ll see. We also unleashed two brand new songs on the crowd that went over really well.

Annabelle and Bear (posted 7/2/09)

The Royal Oak, MI – based production company The Radish Group, known for creating award winning commercial spots is making its transition into feature films with the production of the movie “Annabelle and Bear”.

Annabelle and Bear is the dramatic, tender story of a man who finds himself suddenly thrust into fatherhood, and the unexpected journey that leads him to discover the life altering love found in the heart of his little girl.

This film is being entirely shot and produced in Michigan with 100% of the cast and crew being from Michigan. But they are not stopping there, the soundtrack for this film will be 100% from Michigan.  Six Syllable Sin has submitted two of our songs for their consideration to be included on the soundtrack.

Sometime around July 20th we will know if we made the cut for the vote.  Here is where you come in and can do your part to help us out. If we make the cut we need you to vote for our songs to ensure they end up on the films soundtrack.  If you are on our mailing list we will keep you up to date with the progress and instructions on how to vote.  If you are not on our mailing list there will be instructions posted on our websites.  This is a tremendous opportunity.

Changing The Format Here Just A Little (posted 7/2/09)

I spend a fair amount of time as does the rest of this band surfing the internet checking out other bands and potential venues to play and nothing is more discouraging than pulling up a website that hasn’t been updated recently or visiting a MySpace page who’s owner hasn’t logged on in some time.  In this here and now world we live in of Twitter and everything else like it out there that kind of thing just doesn’t sit well with me.

We try to update this site at least once a month but the problem is sometimes there just isn’t enough news to report to fill up a page.  To remedy that we are going to start updating this site at least monthly (probably more frequently than that) and if there isn’t enough band news to fill up a page we’ll leave in some stories from the previous update but move them down on the page, maybe we’ll even start a news archive page. This change will allow us to more quickly report and band news or updates plus allow any new visitors to this site more content to read.

Six Syllable Sin Demo EP CD Available on Amazon  (posted 4/19/09)

Our demo CD officially sold out in less than two weeks after we had them in our hands.  That was a little unexpected but a good thing nonetheless.  We toyed with the idea of having more pressed but at this point in time with the amount of new material we are working on we’re going to save that money and put it towards the production of a full length CD which should be available later this year.

With that said if you want to copy of the mp3’s and cover art you can download them on Amazon.com. for under $4.00 and then burn a CD if you want.  That’s the most economical way at this point. Putting our CD on Amazon exposes it to more people and that’s always a good thing.

Amazon has listed our CD as “explicit”, hmm…wonder why?

Scott Freund Racing  (posted 4/19/09)

OK, so your wondering what in the hell this is doing on a rock band’s website, here is your answer.

Scott is a good friend of ours and was my neighbor for a few years when I was younger. He’s always been into racing and he and I hit the Berlin Raceway several times a year while he was out here. He later moved back to California, got married, started a family, continued to race and in his spare time makes documentary films.  I think he should also give some time management seminars because how he keeps all that stuff going is beyond me.

Click on his banner and check him out and if you are in California and want to ride in a race car you can do so with him, so hit him up, or just hit him up and say hello
