Westphalia Invasion

Six Syllable Sin and Silent Lapse are set to take the stage at the Whiskey Lounge (1044 Godfrey Ave SW, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503) January 2,2009 at 8:00pm along with one local Grand Rapids band yet to be announced. This should be a huge kick ass show and the guys from Silent Lapse as well as Six Syllable Sin are geeked for this show. With any luck Silent Lapse will have their CD available and so will we. Grand Rapids will never be the same.

We would appreciate all the support we can get at this show so we expect you to be there and tell all your friends to be there. We are also working on the possibility of having one of our local internet DJ buddies do a live broadcast from the Whiskey Lounge that night for those fans that live outside of Michigan.

Sin in the Studio

Recording started way back on Saturday October 11th on our up and coming demo CD. Yeah remember back then.. when it was still warm outside. Anyway now we are to the later half of November and there are just a few more tracks to lay down before the next step in the process starts. Mixing and then mastering. Yeah, that all has to be done before anything gets released to our fans which will hopefully be before our January 2nd show with Silent Lapse at the Whiskey Lounge.

Spending time recording in the studio is a continuous learning process and we have made some discoveries that have given us a better sound all around this time. Some where discovered by accident and others from diligent reading and studying just about anything we could get our hands on. So we will see how that all pays off.

Next time we are in the studio I will take some serious photos so you all can see the number of mic cables run everywhere (you have to watch out for them if you walk around) gee then there are headphone cables (same with them then double the potential trouble if you are wearing a pair, so its just best to sit in one spot). Now that's not even mentioning any of the guitar cables, but hey all guitar players need cables (that's the wire that runs from the guitar to the amp, shit then there is the cable the runs from the mic (yeah amps are usually mic'ed) in front of the amp to the board. Yeah more cables.

Then if your Six Syllable Sin the Lava Lamp has to be fired up and running like it should, else nothing goes down. But hey that's rock and roll and isn't that what we are all here for?

Photo Shoot.

Finally Saturday, November 8th enough leaves had fallen off the trees to allow Six Syllable Sin to get some promotional photos taken. Granted it was cold and rainy that day but everyone was a trooper and donned the necessary gear to stay somewhat warm and dry.

The location, Highlands Cemetary, or if you are closer to my age and from around this area you may know this cemetary as Mini Ha-Ha. This is a really old cemetary that sits on the top of a lonely hill on the edge of the city of Ionia Michigan and is rumored to be haunted. Mosoleums, yeah there are four up there, bleeding statues, voices in the dark and ghosts. It seems anyone who has been up there at night in the dark has some story of something paranormal that had happened to them. Both Six Syllable Sin band members who have been there in their younger years do. Perfect location for a photo shoot right? Hell yes!

Never mind the sign posted at the then closed gate that read "if the gate is closed this cemetary is closed, trespassers will be prosicuted"! (no doubt posted there because of all the after hours activity that used to go on in there). No one had noticed that sign until we were leaving and then it was just too late, oops, oh well. No harm, no foul. Not that that would have stopped us anyway. Be sure to check out all the untouched photos which are only posted on this website, some people who have viewed them stated they have seen ghosts in them. Our photographer (Shannon) did mention several time durring the shoot that the camera was acting funny. So you be the judge....

Forbidden Radio

I have no idea what happened with Forbidden Radio, one day it was there and the next "poof" it was gone. No messages or notification anywhere that I could find. If anyone knows anything please let us know. We would like to thank all our fans who voted for us on Forbidden Radio, because of you and your votes we first landed on the charts sometime mid last summer and consistantly stayed on them right up through the end.

Blazzing Radio.

Is currently down to to server problems. We hope they get this problem sorted out as they were a kick ass station. (update) I received word from a trusted source that Blazzing Radio may not be opening back up. Six Syllable Sin wishes them the best of luck.

Joy4all Radio

I apologize for this story being so far down on our news page I usually like to keep all the current internet radio station we promote together but I need to get this site updated pronto therefor this story has to go here.

Joy4all radio is owned by DJ Viper and managed by DJ Dragonmistress and DJ Andyboy plus if you poke around on their homepage you will see some other familiar names. I had the pleasure of chatting with DJ Viper the other night, good straight forward guy so I sent him our Six Syllable Sin songs so check out the station and request our songs.

Are You in a Band?

If you are in a band and you would like to get your music played by kick ass internet stations with kick ass DJ's just contact any or all of the stations we promote on this site and our myspace page. Or get in touch with us here or through our MySpace page and we can get you in contact with them. These station work hard at what they do and are always looking for new material.

MySpace and Reverb Nation are now Linkable

So what does that mean? Well now with linked MySpace and ReverbNation pages we can track more things that add to our ReverbNation band score. Gee I linked them the other day and our score jumped higher than it has ever been before, yeah higher than when we did the live show with DJ Partytime on Blazzing Radio and Fun4all Radio. Plus there is more coming which can only get better so stay tuned. Our widget hits (see the image below in the box marked “widget hits” (clever huh)) increases by an average of 1500 hits weekly and Six Syllable Sin thanks all of YOU for that.  If you want to see what our Reverb Nation page looks like just click on the image below and it will take you right there.

I am leaving this last story here simply because every time I watch that video I laugh my ass off.

I Really Don’t Know What to Title this

Was it an experiment that went terribly wrong, are we all being watched, were the police called, where in the hell is my wallet.  Wow, that first sentence really makes you think doesn’t it?

This video has nothing to do with anything stated in that first paragraph.  It is a short video of what went on during a rehearsal break not that long ago. Be forewarned though that that this is raw footage and some of the language used may be offensive to some people.

Other than that it was just an experiment to see how long it takes to upload a video for future reference and thought we would share it with you.

Maybe I should have titled this: It’s not what you see but what you don’t see.
